Advisory: SkinnyPop Removes Dairy-Containing Variety That Looks Like Non-Dairy Version

-

According to a recent press release, the folks at SkinnyPop have voluntarily removed their newly launched dairy-containing White Cheddar Popcorn from store shelves “to provide clarity for consumers with milk allergies.”

“Why,” you may ask? Because their product development department made the boneheaded decision to package the new dairy-containing variety to look almost identical to their dairy-free variety.

While the dairy-containing variety is safe for people without a milk allergy, consumers who are allergic to milk are encouraged to check their pantries to ensure they haven’t inadvertently bought the newly introduced version, which could trigger a serious reaction, including anaphylaxis.
