As the kids head back to school (yay!), we’ve made a number of updates to the Safe Snack Guide – our catalog of snacks that are free of peanuts, tree nuts and (mostly) eggs – and Allergence, our interactive product screening service where you can research EXACTLY how products are manufactured with respect to the 11 allergens we track including sesame, mustard and gluten.
New Members of our Manufacturer Partnership
We welcome seven new members to the SnackSafely.com Manufacturer Partnership, now numbering over 60 companies that provide us with significantly more information regarding the potential for allergen cross-contact than the FDA requires. All ship nationwide.
The following companies now have products listed in the Safe Snack Guide as well as Allergence:
Mo’Pweeze Bakery – A family owned bakery that produces luscious products free of the Top 8 allergens. They bake tasty and delectable treats like cupcakes, cakes, breads, and cookies and never use other products in their equipment to control cross contamination.
88 Acres – This manufacturer of delicious craft seed bars goes to great lengths to ensure the safety of their ingredient supply chain. Wherever possible, they source ingredients from single-source suppliers to reduce the risk of cross-contamination with allergens.
My Grandpa’s Farm – Manufacturer of organic, gluten-free, non-GMO baking mixes made without the top 8 allergens. All with whole grain, aluminum-free baking powder and no fillers, preservatives or additives!
Nuttee Bean Co – This company recently launched a line of crunchy, whole roasted fava bean snacks that tantalize your taste buds while providing fiber and protein, and contain no trans-fat, no artificial flavors, and no cholesterol. They are manufactured in a special nut-free facility.
Nutphree’s Bakery – A family-owned and operated bakery founded when their son was first diagnosed with peanut and tree nut allergies and specializing in delicious cookies and cupcakes that are 100% free of peanuts and tree nuts.
These companies use coconut ingredients (considered a tree nut by the FDA) so their products are not eligible for inclusion in the Safe Snack Guide, though you can find them in Allergence for diets where coconut is not a concern:
Molly’s Bakeovers – Bakeovers are make-overs of baked goods to make them tastier, more nutritious. They’re made without gluten, peanuts, dairy, egg, or soy and are manufactured in a dedicated kitchen on dedicated equipment in a facility that is peanut free and gluten free certified.
Willow’s Wonders – A company that makes the healthiest, most delicious certified gluten-free vegan cookies in a dedicated facility while guaranteeing they are free of 11 major allergens including: wheat, gluten, soy, dairy, eggs, peanuts, all tree nuts EXCEPT coconut, fish, and crustacean shellfish, sesame seeds and mustard.
Retired Products
We’ve also retired all products from two brands that have been discontinued: EnerPro and AllerEnergy.
