Two leading food allergy organizations have officially merged their operations. The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) and Food Allergy Initiative (FAI) have completed their merger to form Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE).
FARE combines the information, programs, and resources of FAAN with FAI’s leadership as the world’s largest private funding source of food allergy research.
“FARE is committed to serving all those affected by food allergies through research, education, advocacy and awareness,” said John Lehr, CEO of FARE. “Food allergies are a serious and growing public health issue touching every aspect of our society, and it is critical for all of us – whether food-allergic or not – to know how to properly manage this potentially life-threatening condition.”
FARE will continue to operate FAAN and FAI programs and websites separately through the end of 2012. Beginning early 2013, FARE will operate under a new logo and single website, foodallergy.org.
We encourage our readers who care for children with food allergies to visit both FAAN and FAI websites as they provide a wealth of information on all aspects of food allergy.
