As we head into Autumn and the leaves begin to fall, we at SnackSafely.com are celebrating a pair of wonderful milestones that you, our readers, have made possible.
2!
This week marks two years since SnackSafely.com began publication with our very first article entitled 5 Things You Should Know About Reading Labels. Though we were already distributing the Safe Snack Guide for a few years by that time, the establishment of our blog and your word of mouth has helped us reach tens of thousands of people searching for news and guidance in dealing with the growing epidemic of food allergies.
40,000!
With the boost we received from many new schools referring parents to our Safe Snack Guide this back-to-school season, we are pleased to announce that we surpassed 40,000 downloads of the Guide for the month-long period from August 13 to September 12! We’re thrilled so many parents, teachers, school nurses and administrators nationwide have found the Guide to be a valuable resource for preventing anaphylaxis at home and in the classroom, and we’re working to make it even more useful in the months ahead.
Thanks!
We appreciate the feedback, suggestions and warm support you’ve given us, and most of all – for the trust you’ve invested in us over the years.
We’re working hard to keep your trust for a third year by advancing our Manufacturer Partnership Initiative to help fill in the gaps left by the FDA’s less than perfect labeling regime, and we plan to leverage this initiative to support other allergens in addition to peanuts, tree nuts and eggs, including the remaining FALCPA allergens like milk, soy and others like gluten, sesame and mustard.
Thanks again for two wonderful years of support! We’ll be here as your trusted resource until there’s a cure for food allergy and all our children are able to snack safely.
Sincerely,
Debra and Dave Bloom
