SnackSafely.com is issuing the following advisory to all readers who rely on our Guides and Allergence product screening service for guidance regarding the potential for allergen cross-contact in the products we cover.
We recently received an inquiry about a WARHEADS candy product manufactured by Impact Confections. The reader pointed out that the product’s precautionary allergen labeling on a retail website differed from the information the company maintains with us.
When we inquired about the discrepancy with our contact at the company, we received conflicting feedback regarding their manufacturing processes. As a result, we have lost confidence in their reporting, terminated Impact’s membership in our Manufacturer Partnership, and removed WARHEADS products from our Guides and Allergence.
As we can no longer vouch for the veracity of the information they provided, we urge all consumers with food allergies to contact the company directly to determine whether and how their allergens of concern are processed.

Note that this is not a recall. As far as we know, Impact Confections has not violated the FDA’s allergen disclosure regulations. However, the company has abrogated its allergen reporting responsibilities to us — which are far more stringent than the FDA’s — hence this advisory.
