Update to Safe Snack Guide: March 1, 2012

-

We are introducing a number of exciting changes to our Safe Snack Guide, our list of snacks free of peanuts, tree nuts and eggs intended for schools, clubs and parties.

Aside from expanding the Guide to eight full pages of products, we are also introducing a number of new features. Here are some examples:

  • The Guide now includes many products that are certified by their manufacturers as free of the above allergens. These products can be identified by the new green check mark [check mark] insignia.
  • We’ve added a number of new product categories including Cakes/Muffins,  Granola/Trail Mixes, Peanut Butter Alternatives, and Chocolate.
  • We’ve expanded and clarified the instructions for use on the first page.

Be sure to pass this Guide on to friends, family, school officials – anyone concerned with keeping children with allergies to these foods safe.

  1. I know you put a lot of work into this and I am trying to create lists too. Thanks so much! If you ever want to work on a soy-free list (lecithin and oil is ok), then feel free to let me know. My guy is allergic to peanut, egg, and soy. Boo!

    • Jeanne, We are looking to incorporate soy, milk and the remaining allergens covered under FALCPA in the future.
