Update to Safe Snack Guide: December 10, 2013 – Holiday Edition!

-

We’re happy to announce the Holiday edition of the Safe Snack Guide complete with a section of holiday-themed goodies free of peanuts, tree nuts and eggs.

By restricting foods served at your classroom celebrations and holiday parties to products listed in the Guide, you avoid introducing these allergens which can cause life-threatening contact reactions in children allergic to them. This is a great way of accommodating – not excluding – children with severe allergies to these foods. (We stress that the parents should always be the final arbiters of food given to a child with food allergies!)

We are also pleased to announce two manufacturers that have joined our Manufacturer Partnership Initiative:

  • SunButter – a line of delicious and healthy alternatives to peanut butter. Made from specially roasted sunflower seeds, they are completely peanut, tree nut, and gluten-free;
  • Seth Ellis, Chocolatier – makers of Sun Cups, a line of luscious alternatives to peanut butter cups also free of peanuts, tree nuts, and gluten, available in a variety of flavors.

As they have disclosed their manufacturing processes regarding 11 allergens to us via our Product Portal, their products appear in bold to show our added confidence in recommending them.

Last but not least, be sure to take advantage of the coupons and giveaways in this edition from Enjoy Life, Allergic Solution, WowButter and Sweet Alexis. We also welcome a new advertiser, Blue Bear Aware, providing discounts on allergy accessories.
