A new educational app for young children with food allergies is set to debut this weekend. Entitled “Allergy Reality”, the app will appear in the Apple App Store and Google Play on June 11.
Players are immersed in real life situations such as opening a refrigerator to choose safe foods. Subsequent levels include matching games, where players learn what they can eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and word scrambles that teach label reading.
To start, the app covers five main food allergies including gluten, dairy, soy, nuts, and eggs.
From the press release:
We are Coral and Megan; two moms that have children with food allergies and Celiac disease. We both struggled to understand the allergy our child faced and recognized the great need for additional resources. To support this need we have created Allergy Reality; a fun and interactive gaming app teaching kids and adults about food specific allergies, intolerances and more.
The app will debut for $1.99 and also include sponsored products.
