We sense love in the air, so it must be time for the 2014 Valentine’s Day Edition of the Safe Snack Guide! But before we go into specifics, first a reminder that with this issue we are introducing a change to the foods we list in the Guide.
Change to Treatment of Eggs
As we announced in a previous posting, with this issue we will be introducing a number of products that contain or are manufactured in facilities that also process eggs. This change will allow us to introduce many new products both with and without eggs.
For all our readers that are concerned with egg allergy, don’t worry – all items that contain or are manufactured in facilities that process eggs will be clearly labeled as such immediately following the product name. Here’s an example:
The change is described on the page 1 of the Guide; please be sure to read and understand the declarations and disclaimer on page 1 before using the Guide.
Valentine’s Day Section
This edition features an entire section devoted to sweets for your sweetie and truffles for your true love. It’s also a great resource if you are planning a classroom celebration where children with food allergies will be present. (We stress that the parents should always be the final arbiters of food given to a child with food allergies!)
New Products
We are pleased to announce the addition of products from three manufacturers that have joined our Manufacturer Partnership Initiative:
- Skeeter Snacks – an innovative food company that makes nut-free and all-natural snacks for children and schools. Their products are all peanut and tree nut free and delicious!
