Update to Safe Snack Guide and Allergence: Halloween 2016 Edition

-

We’re happy to announce that we’ve conjured up the Halloween 2016 Edition of the Safe Snack Guide, our catalog of snacks free of peanuts, tree nuts, and eggs. The Guide is used by thousands of schools and hundreds of thousands of parents nationwide to help keep these allergens out of the classroom and the home.

As we do every year, we’ve dedicated a whole page to Halloween-themed and bulk-packaged candies and chocolates, just in time for trick-or-treat and nut-free celebrations. With each listing we provide size/packaging information and indicate whether the items are individually wrapped.

For those of you concerned with additional allergens, you can research all bolded Safe Snack Guide product entries using our Allergence product screening service to see exactly how they are manufactured with respect to 11 allergens, including the Top 8 (peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, milk, soy, wheat, fish, shellfish), sesame, mustard, and gluten.

We’re also happy to welcome the addition of three new members to our Manufacturer Partnership. These manufacturers have agreed to disclose much more information regarding the potential for allergen cross-contact in their products than the FDA requires:

  • CF72E054AFBo & Ty Sweets – Founded by 2 moms of boys with severe nut allergies, this company markets delicious nut-free candy with sizes ranging from tiny Dabs all the way up to Jumbo. Tasty, bright and fun, their candies can be personalized with messages for all occasions, including birthdays, weddings, sweet 16’s, bar/bat mitzvahs, showers, etc.
  • 6DC887058BFancypants Baking Company – A family owned and operated cookie company whose mission is to provide customers with a safe, healthier alternative to snacking. All products are peanut- and tree nut-free and baked using non-GMO ingredients making them safe for school, but delicious enough for the everyday cookie lover.
  • 706587B700Better Batter Gluten Free Flour – Better Batter flour, mixes, and corn-free powdered sugar are manufactured in a facility free of the top eleven allergens. The facility has third-party independent audits done, both scheduled and surprise, to ensure the allergen free status of the ingredients and lines.

We’re sorry to announce that Triann’s Pantry, manufacturer of allergy-friendly flours and mixes, has suspended operations. Their products have been removed from our publications.
