Safe Snack Guide Halloween 2018 Edition

-

Though we have yet to find a manufacturer of allergy-friendly eye of newt, toe of frog, or wool of bat, we’ve scoured the pumpkin patch and found a cauldron-full of treats that are peanut, tree nut, and Top 8 allergen-free! You’ll find them in the 2018 Halloween Edition of the Safe Snack Guide, a resource used by thousands of schools and hundreds of thousands of families nationwide to help keep these allergens out of the classroom and the home.
As we do every year, we’ve dedicated a whole section to Halloween-themed and bulk-packaged candies and chocolates just in time for trick-or-treat and allergy-friendly celebrations at home and school. This year we’ve included some non-food ideas for those participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project, including links to Halloween resources at FARE, Kids with Food Allergies, and FAACT.
Size/packaging information and an indication of whether the items are individually wrapped are included for many products in the Halloween section.

We’re also happy to welcome a new member to our Manufacturer Partnership:

  • Dr JohnsDr John’s Healthy Sweets – Healthy Sweets™ was created after the MaxLove project, a children’s cancer non-profit, challenged the company to make an all-natural lollipop. The base of Healthy Sweets™ is fiber, plus the cavity fighting combination of xylitol and erythritol. Erythritol is a sugar free sweetener that comes from plants, has zero calories and is just as effective preventing cavities as xylitol!

With this issue we also say goodbye to two manufacturers: Divvies and Eleni’s. The data we had on file for both companies expired and as such we are no longer able to recommend their products.
