The Teal Pumpkin Project: Promoting Inclusion of ALL Trick-or-Treaters

-

Food Allergy Research and Education’s (FARE) Teal Pumpkin Project is a wonderful way of raising awareness of food allergies while promoting the inclusion of all trick-or-treaters, especially those whose diets exclude them from typical Halloween treats.
Participating is easy: you simply place a teal-colored pumpkin on your doorstep (available at various retail outlets and from our friends at Allergy Superheroes) indicating you have non-food treats available for children with food allergies and other conditions.

FARE provides all sorts of resources to help make your Teal-Pumpkin Halloween a success, including a selection of window and yard signs, flyers, pumpkin stencils, masks, word puzzles, stickers, coloring sheets and guides. They offer a list of non-food treat ideas and you can even add your home or event to their map to let others in your neighborhood know you are participating!
Please visit their site and order one of their Teal Pumpkin Project Essentials Kits to help build enthusiasm with your kids and get you started. Proceeds from each purchase go toward helping fund food allergy research.
