With all the uncertainty surrounding the spread of COVID-19, the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) has published a resource page to help inform parents, school nurses, and school administrators.
The page includes such topics as:
- Talking Points for School Nurses
- Guidance for School Principals and Superintendents
- Talking to Children About COVID-19 (Coronavirus) – A Parent Resource
- As well as links to resources from the Centers for Disease Control, John Hopkins University, National School Boards Association, and the US Department of Education.
If you have school-age children, we urge you to take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with these resources and learn about the policies your school district will likely adopt if necessary.
The Parent Resource is especially helpful for parents of young children who want to prepare — not scare — their kids.
Please consider sharing this resource with your child’s school nurse and administration.
