ZEGO Takes Another Bold Step in Food Safety and Transparency

ZEGO CEO Colleen Kavanagh

The company that leads the food industry in allergen transparency is once again pushing the envelope by testing for glyphosate and 400+ other chemicals and pesticides and making the results available on their website.

ZEGO, manufacturer of the cleanest fruit bars and mixins on the market, pioneered a new way of providing allergen transparency by publishing a QR code on every package. When scanned, the “Z Code” leads to laboratory test results summarizing the content of major allergens for that product.

Now, ZEGO is testing for the presence of glyphosate – the controversial chemical in RoundUp that is a suspected carcinogen – and over 400 other herbicides, pesticides and chemicals. As they do for allergens, those test results are made available on the ZEGO website.
