A Friendly Reminder: Take 2!

-

As we approach Food Allergy Awareness Week (May 11-17), we at SnackSafely.com would like to remind you to always take 2 epinephrine auto-injectors along, whether you have the severe food allergy or your child does.

If you’ve been following the press lately, you know that there have been a spate of reports of deaths due to accidental cross-contact with allergens. Many could have been avoided had epinephrine been administered in time.

Why take 2 along? The second dose is a fall-back in case the first auto-injector malfunctions or a single dose is insufficient to halt the symptoms of anaphylaxis.

Click here for a set of flyers from our Take 2 Campaign and be sure to hang them at home, school, work, and camp and share them with your child’s school nurse, pediatrician, and allergist. The reminders may help save a life, maybe even yours or a loved one’s!
